I did have the “occupied” sign up because they don’t do “do not disturb” for this very reason. I happened to be napping when the incessant pounding on the door started. What are you doing in there? Sleeping, showering, changing, etc. Rather than waiting for you to leave your room, they are going to “safety check” when you are in your room. What we didn’t understand at the time is that if you opt out of maid service this hotel still wants in your room every single day. They would provide us with a $10 food credit in exchange. Second issue we experienced, as we had checked in they asked us to consider not using a maid during our stay. However no apology or how can we make the rest of your stay more pleasant and we were now not rested for the early morning alarm. They handled it very quick with no argument.
I packed up the room as my husband went down to the lobby to get a new one. At 1 AM it was clear this was going to happen all night. We kept hoping it would stop, but we quickly realized it was the elevator.
Right as we start to try to fall asleep the wall behind our bed is shaking every few minutes with loud rattling. The room was super hot because even though the AC ran all afternoon, they really are not meant to cool much. On our first night we went to bed with an early conference in the morning. The casino is an average casino, but the food court is actually really good.
Our first impression was the room was clean and quite nice for the cost.
